This is an incredibly rare book, and one of the only county directories to ever be published for the west of Ireland. It contains a full list of county officials, magistrates of the county and borough of Sligo, public and private institutions, trades directory, general directory of the borough, and a directory of the principal towns throughout the county, as well as a lot of other useful information, such as a calendar of fairs, tides, postal services, etc. There is a full street and business directory for Sligo borough, following which there are details for each town, including churches, schools, police, banks, schools, and a full trades directory. This booklet was distributed free to subscribers of the Sligo Independent newspaper, and is lavishly filled with illustrated advertisements.
